ECHOSPORT talks to Doncaster Rovers fan Josh Dainty ahead of tonight’s game.

What have you made of the season so far?

“Rovers have done extremely well so far.

"We lost our manager Grant McCann in pre-season, lost 11 of the 18 players from our final game of the 2018/19 season against Charlton in the play-off semi-finals and hired Darren Moore only two or three weeks before our first game of the season.

“Amazingly, we’ve started the season really well, going unbeaten for the first seven games in the League.

"I believe we’ve always been a team that’s played attractive football and nothing has changed this season.”

What were the hopes this season and what’s still possible?

“With the summer Rovers endured, I would have been very happy for mid-table obscurity, consolidation and avoiding a relegation battle.

"However, judging from the very good start to the season and how we’ve played in those games, I’d say the aim should be a place in the top six - it’s achievable for sure.

"Obviously, it’s still early days in the season and anything can happen in football, but I definitely think it’s achievable at this stage.”

How has Darren Moore been doing?

“I don’t think many Rovers fans will disagree with me when I say we’re extremely lucky to have Darren at the wheel.

“Yes, he’s only got a small amount of experience but what he has achieved in that small amount of time suggests he could manage way higher.”

Who is the dangerman?

“I can’t look past anybody other than our club legend James Coppinger. The man is 39 in January but is still the key player that makes the rest of the team tick.”

What’s the team news?

“I think Rovers will name an unchanged side from Saturday’s win over Bristol Rovers.”
