SOUTHEND United's fans have their say on Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Roots Hall
Said before the game that I was more interested in how we played rather than the result against a decent Ipswich side. They wasted time for 80 minutes of the game and that tells you how we did. Players worked hard and you could see Campbell taking effect. Dieng immense.

Better performance, better effort and better formation. Silly mistakes still costing us but against a quality side like Ipswich, it was always going to be tough. Lots of positives to take forward.
@strutty27
New manager, same old performance. The January transfer window is going to define our season.
@wellstoneacrow
Decent performance, had a top team time-wasting for the majority of the game. Cox/Humphs/Hopper worked well up top. Room for improvement but definitely wasn’t the slaughterhouse we all expected.
@toddbharding
Fitness was the difference, as we flagged a bit Ipswich stepped it up. Yet again, luck let us down and the ref was weak. Ipswich defenders pushed, shoved and led with their elbows at times, we need to not let ourselves be bullied. Elvis best player again.
@kaylalula
Scoreline was not a fair reflection of our performance. Thought Dieng had a great game in new role. Great to see Acquah score his first senior goal. The display offers promise going forward but need to cut out the silly errors that led to at least two of the goals.
@robertaskew7
Fair play to the players. They did their best. It was a much better performance. Great to watch our new manager get behind his team on the touchline.

Much, much better. No heads going down, pushed till the end. Disallowed goal was disheartening but whatever Sol Campbell has done and said over his first few days here is definitely working. Man of the match was Elvis.
@tezza_sufc
Better performance, could see a better team structure in there. Downside was that while we had a lot of pressure and the ball at the start of the second half we didn’t really create much.
@harrisufc
Thought we were well in the game for 70 minutes and, unfortunately, James Norwood proved to be the difference. A few positives to take and was certainly a more spirited performance.
@bradcooper71696
Considering Sol and his team have only been with the squad for a few days it’s great to see such an improvement. Keep fighting chaps.
@misterpaulhill
Wonder if Sol could pull some strings and get in a loan keeper.
