SOUTHEND Saints triumphed 10-0 at Haverhill in their opening game of the season.
Sporting their new kit for the first time, Southend threatened right from the off and opened the scoring when some great rugby resulted in Kassie Sparrow touching down.
Southend stayed 5-0 in front until half-time but they remained on top after the break.
As a result, Saints soon extended their lead with Sparrow touching down for her second try of the afternoon.
The try made sure of a hard-fought win for Southend with Sparrow being named back of the match and Kirsty Flynn forward of the match.
