JASON Demetriou's training regime could reduce the chances of him earning a recall at Southend United.

The right-back is unable to train every day after having two operations on his knee last season.

And Blues boss Sol Campbell has seemingly suggested that may hinder the defender - who lined up for Cyprus against Scotland last weekend - at Roots Hall.

“Jason came on in one of my first games and it’s good he can go play international football,” said Campbell.

“But the main thing for us is getting a team together that’s fit and strong and can train all the time to compete week in, week out.”

Demetriou has not started for Blues since a 3-1 defeat to Gillingham in early October.
