CRAIG Waters stresses Southend Manor cannot afford to lose to Sawbridgeworth Town at Southchurch Park tomorrow.

Sawbridgeworth currently prop up the Essex Senior League table and Manor are nine points better off in 17th place.

But Manor boss Waters insists his side should not underestimate Sawbridgeworth.

“It is, 100 per cent, a must not lose game for us,” said Waters.

“If we win, it puts a good distance between us and Sawbridgeworth.

“A win would be ideal, but the main thing is not to lose because otherwise they will close the gap.

“However, we can’t afford to underestimate them.

“We have to be at our best from the first whistle through to the last whistle.

“I have a game plan in place and that should allow us to pick up a positive result.”

Manor head into the clash following a 7-0 thumping at Walthamstow last time out.

And Waters, who took charge last month, is seeking a reaction from his side.

“Walthamstow were different class and, despite the heavy defeat, morale in the camp has been alright,” added Waters.

“The players have trained well this week.

“I want a reaction from my players this weekend.”
