CONCORD Rangers and Billericay Town are looking forward to home ties in the Essex Senior Cup quarter-finals.

Danny Scopes’ Concord have been handed a difficult draw against National League South rivals Chelmsford City.

The Beach Boys - who sealed their passage through to the last eight thanks to a thumping victory over Great Wakering Rovers - boast a good record in the competition, having won the Essex Senior Cup on three occasions.

But Chelmsford, who were defeated by the Beach Boys when they visited the Aspect Arena in August, have reached each of the last three finals.

Having beaten East Thurrock United in the Essex Senior Cup final in 2017, the Clarets have since suffered defeats to Billericay Town and John Coventry’s Rocks at the final hurdle in each of the last two campaigns.

Billericay - who overcame Basildon United in the fourth round thanks to Jake Robinson grabbing his 100th goal for the club - will welcome the winners of the tie involving Grays Athletic and Canvey Island, who are going head-to-head tonight, to New Lodge.

Town were the 2018 Essex Senior Cup winners and will be hoping for more joy this term.

In the other two quarter-final ties, Waltham Abbey will do battle with Maldon & Tiptree, while Tilbury - who knocked Bowers & Pitsea out of the competition last night - are set to visit Dagenham & Redbridge or Barking.

The quarter-final contests will be played on or before January 11.
