SOUTHEND United's promising midfielder Franck Moussa is again aiming to prove his worth when the Shrimpers travel to Nottingham Forest tonight.

The 18-year-old Belgian was a surprise starter at Northampton Town on Saturday.

And he is now looking to help Steve Tilson's side secure another victory away from home.

"Forest are a huge club so to play against them would be fantastic," said Moussa, who has worked his way up through the Roots Hall youth system.

"At this stage of my career any game is a good one for me and hopefully I can help us get a good result."

Moussa figured on the right hand side of the midfield against the Cobblers and produced an assured performance.

He kept the ball well when under pressure and is beginning to adjust to moving away from his favoured position in the middle of the park.

"I'm more used to playing centre midfield but it isn't a problem going out a bit wider," confirmed Moussa.

"The manager didn't give me too many instructions because he didn't want to confuse me but he just told me to express myself and I thought I did OK.

"I'm obviously enjoying being part of the team and the more opportunies I get hopefully I can show people what I'm all about."

Moussa has previously impressed for the club's youth and reserve teams and is now looking to do likewise in the senior side.

Saturday's victory moved the Seasiders up to third in the standings and Moussa is keen to maintain the upturn in fortunes.

"It was a good win at Northampton and now we want another one," said the youngster.

"We've got ourselves into a good position and want to keep it going."

Moussa is also being backed to make a good impression by manager Steve Tilson.

He believes the midfielder has a bright future in the game and has no fears about starting him at the City Ground.

"Franck is going to be a very good player," said Tilson.

"He's still young so it will be some time before we see the best of him.

"He did a good job on Saturday though in what isn't his best position but he didn't look out of place at all.

"Tonight will be even tougher though because Forest are the biggest club at this level and they are definitely going for promotion this year."

BLUES goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan will resume full training on Thursday after recovering from a back injury.
