BILLERICAY Town fans are expected to snap up the last tickets for the club's first ever date with Football League opposition on Saturday in the next day or so.

Town take on the Swans with a 1pm kick-off in the FA Cup first round proper and the New Lodge side had just over 2,000 tickets to sell.

Just under 1,000 are going to Swans' followers and Billericay chairman Steve Kent said: "We sold 400 on the day the tickets went on sale and many supporters have signed up as club members as they got priority along with season ticket holders.

"Since then the tickets have gone steadily at each selling session and I don't think we'll have too many left after tonight's game."

They are on sale at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under-16s.

Tonight Town briefly switch off from the build-up for the big FA Cup game as they bid to make further progress in the FA Trophy.

After a 2-2 draw at British Gas Business League Premier high-fliers King's Lynn on Saturday in the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy, Ryman Premier Town host the Linnets in a replay tonight (7.45pm).

The match must be finished this evening, with the tie being decided on penalties if scores are level after extra-time.

If victorious, Billericay will face another home knockout bonanza on Saturday, November 24 as the winners tonight will host Blue Square South leaders Eastbourne Borough at home in the third qualifying round.

Yesterday's draw saw Ryman One North Canvey, who had an excellent 2-0 win at Brentwood on Saturday, away for the third round running, visiting either British Gas Business League Division One South and West Abingdon United or Ryman Premier Maidstone in the third qualifying round - the pair meet in a replay in Kent tonight.

Thurrock start their Trophy campaign with a tough trip to Blue Square South rivals Bath City.

The West Country side are sixth in the table with Thurrock 15th, but Fleet had a great unbeaten October and started the new month with a 0-0 home draw against Fisher.

CANVEY Island are in Ryman One North league action tonight at Park Lane when they stage a home Essex derby with Maldon Town (7.45pm).
