WHILE double-figure common carp seem to be dominating the scene in recent weeks, the same cannot be said at Doggetts, where smaller fish have become the order of the day.
Difficult conditions meant Kristian Buckley from Eastwood did well to land a 19lb regular from the south bank.
Doggetts regular Dave Cox from Leigh also spent a full 24 hours on the south bank landing commons of 12lbs and 16lbs.
James Francaise landed a 14lbs common during his first ever carp session fished on the north bank.
Meanwhile, Martin Mathers from Westcliff landed a very scrappy 12lbs fish from the east bank.
While the bigger carp have disappeared, the bream have suddenly re-appeared giving the float fishermen sport on most parts of the lake.
The odd tench has also been adding weight to the bags.
The pike fishing continues to be reasonably productive with fish to 12lbs being landed in the back pool, although fish are being landed from most parts of the lake.
