SOUTHEND United's fans have their say on Saturday's 0-0 draw with Tranmere Rovers.
If any of the players on the pitch were among those not paid on time, it didn’t show. Commitment and effort could not be faulted, however sadly we lacked quality and creativity in the final third. Too few shots on target in a game we should have won. Let’s get some new blood in!
@Garrygen
Decent performance. Thought we were better team, probably deserved a win. Same as usual putting in strong performances- no idea what we’ll do if/when Hopper leaves. If the last few games aren’t enough evidence to put Kelman up top over Humphrys I’ll be really disappointed.
@samgoody23
After this week’s turmoil off the pitch the players all put in a full shift. Looked solid at the back and nice to get our first home clean sheet for more than a year. However we still lack something in midfield & didn’t provide any service to our strikers so we didn’t look like scoring.
@Johnfrench52Sky
Not a great game from either side, can see Sol has put in defensive structure and it was rewarded with a clean sheet.
@bradcooper71696
Most committed display of the season. I thought Mantom, Hopper, Kiernan, Milligan and Dieng were all excellent.
@fatblokemarge
Everyone gave 110 per cent but our lack of quality meant we couldn’t finish off a very physical Tranmere side. They could and perhaps should have had two or three players sent off. Chris Barker would have been proud of the effort we put in.
@Strutty27
Firstly fantastic tribute to Chris Barker before and during the game.We looked more solid than we have, though against an admittedly very poor Tranmere side.However we barely created any chances worthy of the name.We are likely to meet each other again in League Two next season
@KristofShrimper
With the amount of negativity this week alone and rumours of no pay for players etc they certainly played with a sense of passion and determination. Dieng, White and Kiernan played great at the back, but needed the win so disappointed we didn’t make more use of the substitutes.
@ToonBradders
More effort. More commitment. More passion. More organised. Appalling refereeing - bottled the clearest penalty decision you’ll ever see. Macca put in a huge shift as my stand out player for us.

Look decent defensively. But the midfield is the problem, Mantom, Dimetriou and Milligan are so wasteful in possession and lack any creativity meaning Hopper and Humps are basically redundant up top. Wingers and creative midfielders are required for us.
