JAKE Spivey is thrilled to be back at Westcliff.

The scrum-half started the season in National One with Bishop’s Stortford.

But he is now happy to be back at the Gables.

“I am grateful for my time at Stortford and to play at National One level was great but, for me, Westcliff was much more suited to me with work and my lifestyle at the moment,” said Spivey.

“I also have always loved Westcliff and backed them as they are my home team.

“I know I enjoy my rugby there and when I’m enjoying my rugby I play at my best.

“Westcliff are more ambitious than ever and with the new platform and clubhouse it just seemed right for me as I know the club is heading in the right direction.”

Spivey will miss tomorrow’s National Two South clash at Old Redcliffians with an eye problem.
