SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 2-1 win at Accrington Stanley.

The upturn in results coincides with the return of Oxley. He was excellent again, with good performances too from Macca and Kiernan. Sam Barratt also had a big impact. Rode our luck but we deservedly got that win which feels so good.

Forgot how this felt! Brilliant for the fans who went. Brilliant for Sol and his team We have been improving and the hard work has paid off. It seems like mission impossible but come on Mr chairman lets get some players in and lets give the rest of the season a real go.

Brilliant game, great performance from Kelman and Barratt. We looked weak defensively for the first half after Dieng went off and hope he recovers soon. Could have been 2-1 or 3-1. The second half was a massive improvement and we could have scored another one. We are improving!

One Anthony Coggins

Now that’s an improvement!

A lot of credit to Sol. He has a young group of players with no confidence and turned it around by consistently staying positive, got them fitter and given them an understanding of what is expected. Shame he was not here from the start of the season.

Milligan was fantastic. True warrior performance.

WE WON A GAME! Nothing more needed.

I don’t care if it probably means nothing as far as our season goes, that was an immense performance. We stood strong. Eight weeks ago we’d have lost that 5-2. Fans were superb. Hope we get to see more of Sam Barratt in the coming weeks, glimpses of something special there.

First win of many for Sol I’m sure. Bring on the next game - only 12 points from safety... Can we do it? Probably not but no excuse not to try.

Could have been behind at half time but once we got ahead, we never looked back and the team worked their socks off to keep the lead

A win at last and although not pretty was hard earned and deserved. Becoming more competitive now and not leaking goals like earlier in the season which keeps us in the game. Need to make winning a habit now and see where that takes us.

‘Can you ref us every week!’
