ELVIS Bwomono fought off a sickness bug and Accrington Stanley to help Southend United get back to winning ways.
Blues triumphed 2-1 at Stanley on Saturday to bag their first League One victory since September.
And Bwomono played the full 90 minutes at the back - despite an unusual warm-up to the game.
“I don’t know what happened but I started suddenly feeling unwell and I spent most of the warm-up being sick in a toilet in the changing room,” said Bwomono.
“I’m not sure if it was the northern air or if it was some kind of bug but I’m starting to feel OK again now and obviously the result helped where that was concerned too.
“It was a huge relief but in truth it should have happened sooner.”
