ROCHFORD Hundred warmed up for a vital top of the table clash with a hard-fought 22-11 win at Tunbridge Wells.

The London & SE Premier Division leaders host promotion rivals Wimbledon this weekend.

And Rochford will be going into the game on a high, much to the delight of their powerful back row forward Mac Duaibe.

“Everyone’s looking fit and have been playing well together since coming off the Christmas break so everyone is on point for Saturday’s game,” said Duaibe.

“Wimbledon will be a tough game but it’s a game we must win to secure a promotion push.”

Third placed Wimbledon are five points behind Rochford with a game in hand.

But Duaibe insists Hundred will fancy their chances as they continue to push for a third successive promotion.

“The team’s confident,” said Duaibe.

“However, getting Wimbledon out the way will help ease the boys.

“Pushing for promotion is a priority so we will take every game as it comes for a must win.”

Rochford have now triumphed in 16 of their 18 games so far this season.

And Duaibe played a key part in their latest triumph as he scored two tries to help secure another win on the road.

“It was really good to get the two tries, said Duaibe.

“We have a bit of fun in the changing room with the leaderboard of top try scorers so putting down two has put me second behind Harry Hudson who is sat top.”

But it was the victory which pleased Duaibe most.

“It was a good win and a good game,” said Duaibe.

“There was a bit of a slow start to the game but we found the rhythm in the second half.

“Games are a lot slower in this type of weather so it’s quite common to build yourself into the game and that’s what we did.”

Will Ferrier and Iain Meads also touched down for Rochford at the weekend while Cameron Greenhall added a conversion to seal the victory.

Rochford Hundred: Billings, W Ferrier, Dudman, Brambley, Meads, Greenhall, Arnott, Bailey, A Ferrier, Bevans-Royston, Douglas, Shields, Duaibe, Strachan, Hudson.
