DONCASTER Rovers boss Darren Moore has heaped praise on Southend United manager Sol Campbell ahead of facing his Shrimpers side tonight.

Campbell has been in charge of Blues since the end of October.

And Moore feels the former England international has a bright future in management.

"He’s had a fabulous playing career and he’s a wonderful man," said Moore.

"He’s someone I do admire and I’m looking forward to seeing him.

"He is getting it right at Southend, he will get it right at Southend.

"He’s someone who is a student of the game.

"He loves it, he’s compassionate and hard working - all those aspects go with him and that is why as a manager or head coach, he has a bright future in the game.

"The work he is doing will eventually come through and be successful.

"You see slowly but surely that he’s turning the corner with the club and getting it heading in the right direction."

Campbell took charge of the Shrimpers, despite them fighting for League One survival.

And, having previously taken charge of Macclesfield Town, Moore has been impressed by the size of the challenges Campbell has taken on.

"It epitomises him and the character, the man he is," said Moore.

"He doesn’t shirk away from a challenge.

"He relished them and looks forward to them.

"He picked Macclesfield and did a fantastic job with them.

"They were down and out but his leadership skills and ideas saw them stay in League Two and I’m sure they’re grateful for the work he did there.

"He’s come on board at Southend and found a difficult situation but look at the work that he’s done and the results he’s started to get since he’s been there.

"Hopefully that will tell everybody and get the message out there of the work he’s doing.

"He’s gone about his work in a quiet way but an assured way really."
