SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop is set for a shock switch to Manchester United, Echosport understands.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper came through the youth ranks at Roots Hall and has made 39 appearances for the first team.
However, Bishop - who has represented England at under-20 level - was not named in the Shrimpers squad for last night’s League One clash at Doncaster Rovers.
And the youngster is now close to sealing a switch to Old Trafford.
Bishop made his Blues debut at Scunthorpe United in December 2017 and started nine games in succession earlier this season before losing his place to Mark Oxley.
Bishop played 17 games for the Shrimpers this term, conceding 46 goals.
