ROCHFORD Hundred skipper Harry Hudson is certain his side will triumph in tomorrow’s crucial top of the table clash with Wimbledon.

Rochford lead the way at the top of the London & SE Premier Division and are five points clear of third-placed Wimbledon, who still have a game in hand.

However, Hudson is confident Hundred can take a major step towards claiming what would be a third successive promotion this weekend.

“It’s a hugely important game, a cup final really, but it’s one I think we’ll win,” said Hudson.

“If we win this we put ourselves as clear favourites to win the league and I think we’ll do it.

“Of course it’s going to be tough but I think all the boys expect us to win.

“We are feeling confident but Wimbledon beat us last time so no-one will be underestimating them.”

Rochford lost 31-29 at Wimbledon back in October.

But Hudson feels lessons have been learnt since the defeat.

“We scored five tries that day and they scored three but our discipline let us down so they won the game,” said Hudson.

“We have learnt from what happened though and we’re in good shape.”

Hundred have now triumphed in 16 of their 18 matches so far this season.

And Hudson was pleased to record another win on the road last weekend as they triumphed 22-11 at Tunbridge Wells.

“It was five points to nine but we took a while to get there and we have to play territory better,” said Hudson.

“Once we did that on Saturday they never looked like doing anything against us and we got the result we wanted.”
