ECHOSPORT talks to Blackpool fan Sean McGinlay ahead of tomorrow’s game.

What have you made of the season so far?

“Our season started off with a lot of excitement and anticipation. New manager, new owner, new group of players that we could get behind.

"We started off consistently with a solid foundation at the back and clinical in attack.

"Unfortunately, the recent months have seen us slide further and further down the league.

"Simon Grayson seems unsure on what system to play and most games we are playing players out of position without any real grasp of what the formation or general idea of play is.

"Many including myself believe Grayson’s time is up.”

What are the hopes for the rest of the season?

“We can only hope for consolidation now. We brought in practically an entire new starting 11 in January so now it is all about hoping those players can bed in and gel ready to push for promotion next season.

"Many of us hope that we will take the opportunity to bring in a new manager so they have a couple of months to settle in before next season.”

Why have things started to go wrong?

“Things haven’t gone so well lately because of Simon Grayson. He lacks leadership.

"He consistently throws players under the bus in post-match interviews, he talks of how ‘they’ didn’t perform rather than ‘we’, he appears to distance himself from what is going wrong rather than taking responsibility.

"His set-up tactically is unclear to us watching but more importantly to the players also and they appear to be increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress.”

Do most fans feel the same way?

"I would say the majority are now against Grayson.

"We gave him more than enough time to turn the form around given it is our first season back at home games.

"However, we are becoming to leave behind the little old Blackpool mentality and, given the significant backing in the transfer window he has received, we expect a level of quality Grayson is not capable of achieving.

"Grayson’s football is turgid but effective when results are coming but when the results aren’t there, there isn’t anything worth watching."

Who is the dangerman?

"Our dangerman is still Armand Gnanduillet.

"A cult hero figure but in this division his strength and composure makes him a dangerous asset.

"On his day he can bully defences and link in our other attacking options.

"He isn’t the most consistent of players but he certainly shows the quality of a top striker.

"New signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall on loan from leicester is also an honourable mention."

What's the team news?

"There are no significant issues. Sullay Kaikai has been out of the picture for some time and, after a behind closed doors game this week, many of our new signings will be looking to make an impact on Saturday.

"It will be a significantly different team from the last time we faced Southend at Roots Hall.

"However I still expect we will have enough to come through with a win. It is a must win for Simon Grayson."
