SOUTHEND United fans have their say on the 4-0 defeat at Peterborough United.
Sol played the kids, but what else could he do? Was this a message to the chairman to show how badly he needs the players from Macclesfield? Some senior players need a rest, but we literally have no one to bring in. The match is irrelevant; we all want to have some truth from Ron.

Events off the field are clearly affecting team selection Sol and his team did the best they could under the circumstances and the players gave 100 per cent.

Academy players were outstanding, senior players did not stop running, Macca and Demetriou looked done in and gutted when walking off at the final whistle.
@SteveShelsher
Clearly a difficult situation but surely got to help yourself by playing players in their strongest positions. Two right backs on the pitch and we played an academy centre half there. Centre backs were a right back and centre mid.

Went to game not expecting much but could not be prouder of the character shown by our young team. Frustrated Posh in the first half and 4-0 was not deserved. But ultimately the gulf between us showed. Could not fault the players, who fought till the end and gave their all.

Effectively playing a youth team in the League is embarrassing and we’ve got months of this to go. Ron Martin has to come clean on the situation if we can’t even bring the Macclesfield players in.
@Moorhouse79
Was well in the game for an hour and matched Peterborough. Just our luck when at the bottom to hit the post and they break away and score, Peterborough’s quality and experience eventually shone through, 4-0 was very harsh on our youngsters.

I feel sorry for the kids thrown in to a thankless position but I hope they all learn from it and become stronger for the experience. At this point we can only hope some diamonds come through and contribute to better seasons in the future.
