SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Mark Oxley could be out of action for six weeks.

The Shrimpers shot-stopper suffered a thigh problem during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Coventry City at Roots Hall.

But Blues boss Sol Campbell will know more about Oxley's injury towards the end of the week.

"Mark is going to have a scan tomorrow and we will know the full extent of it after that," said Campbell.

"It’s a shame because he was playing really well.

"But it could be three weeks or it could be six weeks.

"Hopefully it won’t be six weeks but we’ll know more about the scan and we can take things from there."

Oxley's injury leaves the Shrimpers without a senior option between the sticks.
