BOWERS & Pitsea continue to show the future is bright as the Isthmian Premier League club’s under-23s sealed an eye-catching 4-0 friendly win over Basildon United.
Alex Salmon’s Bees made the short trip to the Len Salmon Stadium in a bid to maintain their match sharpness having not featured in a competitive fixture since their 1-0 victory over Great Wakering Rovers 13 days earlier.
However, the Isthmian North outfit were unable to contain a youthful Bowers side, with Tyrone Baker, Luke Hirst and Pedro Carvalho among the goalscorers.
The result came despite Basildon winning two of their four competitive fixtures since Salmon moved into the hotseat last month.
The Bees are looking to get involved in another away friendly this weekend ahead of doing battle with Folkestone Invicta in the Isthmian League Cup.
Basildon are also in action tonight as they do battle with White Ensign in the Essex Thameside Trophy.
