SOUTHEND United midfielder Sam Mantom is doubtful for Saturday’s trip to Oxford United.
Mantom has started 13 of Blues’ last 14 matches.
But boss Sol Campbell will have to wait and see if the 28-year-old if fit enough to feature at the Kassam Stadium due to fitness doubts about his knee.
“We will have to wait and see how Mantom is on Friday,” said Campbell.
“He’s the only doubt.
“We need his knee to settle down and he’s played a lot of games in a short space of time.”
Saturday’s game will be the seventh the Shrimpers have played during a busy February.
But Campbell is keen for another big effort against an Oxford side who have triumphed in their last three games.
“It’s been a heavy load for the lads but we’ve come through that now and have another game on Saturday,” said the Blues boss.
“We’re up against another very mobile team who are playing some excellent football.
“It’s going to be difficult for us but we have to put our best foot forwards, see how it goes and go for it.”
