Back in contention - Southend United midfielder Lewis Gard
LEWIS Gard is back in the Southend United squad for tomorrow's trip to Oxford United.
The 20-year-old is back in contention after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury which kept him sidelined for 16 months.
And, with Sam Mantom and Jason Demetriou both doubtful for this weekend's clash, Gard is back in contention.
The midfielder has made four first team appearances for Blues but the last of those came against Colchester United in October 2018.
Gard made his return from injury by playing an hour for the under 23s against AFC Wimbledon earlier this month.
