SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell felt the Shrimpers deserved at least a point at Oxford United this afternoon.
Matty Taylor’s late goal handed the hosts a 2-1 victory against Blues, who have suffered six defeats in succession.
But Campbell felt the latest setback was undeserved.
I think we did enough to get at least a draw out of the game at least but one bit of magic made it 2-1,” said Campbell.
“We had our moments but I think we needed to go for it more in their box.
“The lads played really well and they took it to Oxford who are a great side.
“We had a few good chances and everyone stuck to the game plan but we had a couple of injuries and that put us back.
“But I can’t fault the lads, they played really well and when you look at it we had 12 players who were 20 or under.”
Blues remain second from bottom in League One, 17 points from safety.
