Explaining the situation - Southend United chairman Ron Martin
SOUTHEND United chairman Ron Martin has praised the club's players and staff as they wait to receive their February pay packets.
The majority of the Shrimpers squad - who were due to be paid on February - have yet to receive their wages.
But Martin told Echosport he was close to being able to sort the situation.
He said: "We are in the throes of capitalising the club to meet, not only its immediate needs, but also throughout next year for the 20/21 season.
"These arrangements will be in place shortly and I wish to thank the players and staff for their understanding and support."
