SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell fears the Shrimpers could be heading for a points deduction.
Blues have been hit by two misconduct charges from the Football League for the late payment of players and have also been charged for fielding an ineligible player in their 2-1 win against Lincoln City at the start of February.
And Campbell is not sure what kind of punishment the Shrimpers are facing.
"Hopefully it’s a slap on the wrists but they might add that onto all of the other problems," said Campbell.
"I thought it was going to be kept in the background but it might take more precedence now.
"It might be points or whatever, who knows.
"But with the ineligible player it was a human error."
Echosport understands the ineligible player was fielded due to confusion surrounding the end of a loan spell at another club.
