CANVEY Island boss Mark Bentley has revealed the club have donated their final week’s wages of the season to the NHS.
The Gulls have seen their Isthmian North season cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
And Bentley is keen to do what he can to help.
“The players and staff are doing their bit,” the former Southend United midfielder told the club’s website.
“We’re owed a week’s money from the end of the season but we’ve decided to donate it to the NHS.
“These are people who are putting their lives at risk for us at this tough time and I just hope everything will soon be OK and that we can all be safe and well.”
