FORMER Southend United coach Gary Waddock has been named as the new full-time coach at Academy 23.
Waddock joined Blues as assistant manager before the start of the season and also had nine games as caretaker manager following the departure of Kevin Bond.
However, Waddock left Roots Hall following the appointment of Sol Campbell in October.
And he will now be working at the academy which is for under 23 players.
A statement said: "We are extremely delighted to announce Gary Waddock will be leading our new under 23 full time academy.
"We're providing an elite development programme with degrees available in partnership with Bucks New University."
