ECHOSPORT'S Chris Phillips is the next Blues fan in profile.

Name: Chris Phillips

Age: 38

How long have you been a Blues fan for?

"I went to my first game with my dad in 1989 when I was seven. It was against Rochdale and Southend won 3-2. All I can remember is that Andy Ansah scored and he became my first favourite player.

"We sat in the East Stand and I remember everyone used to whack their feet up and down on the floor whenever we got a corner."

What's your favourite ever goal?

"In terms of the best goal I've seen I think it would be the volley Alan McCormack scored at Preston when we were in the Championship.

"But my favourite ever goal for what it meant has to be Joe Pigott's at Wembley. I couldn't believe it when it went in. I still watch it whenever I get down and I get goosebumps every single time."

What's your favourite ever game?

"That's easy, Wycombe at Wembley. I would say it was the best day of my life. I was so downbeat towards the end of the game. I had finished my report and was packing everything up so I could escape into the press room and not have to watch Wycombe celebrate.

"I was sending my mum stroppy text messages and in truth Southend didn't look like scoring at all. So to go to such lows to such highs in a matter of seconds was unreal and that's the beauty of football really."

Who are your favourite ever Blues players?

"Stan Collymore is the best player I've seen at Southend by a mile. I also used to like really like Andy Ansah and I named my rabbit after Ricky Otto when I was a kid as well so he's up there as well.

"In more recent times, Freddy Eastwood was a fantastic player to watch."
