NEWLY-PROMOTED Rochford Hundred have launched a fundraising appeal amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Rochford will be in National Two South next season after winning three promotions in succession.
But the club’s press officer Sam Allen is now looking to raise an additional £30,000 to help Hundred continue their progress.
“As a club we rely heavily not only on sponsorship but also our memberships, donations and the income from the club bar and functions we hold,” said Allen.
“Right now we aren't able to do any of that.
“Without our usual income streams we aren't able to pay our imminent bills or look to the future and plan.
“We know times are hard for everyone right now but we need help.
“In these times all we can do is hope and look forward to something positive.
“For us, we look to rugby to bring us all together and as soon as we can restart, we hope to be in the best possible position.
“Please help us to continue our journey and give us a fighting chance to continue the success of your club, that brings our community together.
Rochford have raised £720 so far and donations can be made here.
