FORMER Southend United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop insists he aches like never before after joining Manchester United.

Bishop joined the Premier League giants from the Shrimpers in January.

And the 20-year-old shot-stopper is relishing the step up.

“The intensity of training is crazy,” Bishop told the Inside United magazine.

“I’ve never had my body ache after a session before and my body aches in places I didn’t know it would.

“You feel it is a step up and the lads are incredible.

“They’re so fast, they’re on it, their mentality is win, win, win which is incredible to be around.”

Bishop came through the ranks at Roots Hall and made 39 appearances for the first team before making the switch to Old Trafford.

And the youngster is now loving training alongside the likes of David De Gea and Sergio Romero.

“David is one of the best in the world so it’s just an honour to be around him,” said Bishop.

“Everything he does, every little thing, every aspect, his attitude and everything is just fantastic and Sergio as well, he’s just so positive.

“He’s open to teaching, coaching and helping me which is so nice.”

Bishop has yet to feature for United since signing but he remains determined to try and break through.

“The dream is to play in the Premier League and I know that United can develop me to push me towards that,” said Bishop.

“Whatever happens in the future is unknown but I know that United is the best place to be able to go and do it.”
