SOUTHEND United legend Freddy Eastwood feels he would have reached the Premier League had he been more dedicated.
Eastwood lined up in the Championship for the Shrimpers as well as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Coventry City.
But the former striker regrets not working harder in pursuit of top flight football.
“The main regret is definitely that I never got to play in the Premier League,” said Eastwood.
“I got to the Championship and I definitely feel I was good enough to go higher because a lot of my team-mates did and the boys I played against did too.
"I was training with them every day and felt I was as good as them but on my behalf it was probably down to them having a bit more dedication.
“It’s easy to look back on and say it now but I do think at that time a bit more dedication would have got me to the Premier League.”
Eastwood netted 65 goals in 135 games during his first stint with the Shrimpers before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers for £1.5million.
However, Eastwood spent just a season at Molyneux before joining Coventry City for £1.1 million.
The striker also scored four times in 11 games for Wales.
