FORMER Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is interested in becoming Southend United’s next manager, Echosport understands.
The 47-year-old has also spent time in charge of Blackpool, Bury, Kilmarnock and Blyth Spartans who he was with until March.
In total, Clark has had 439 games as a manager and is now keen on taking charge at Roots Hall.
The Shrimpers are looking to rebuild after last season’s relegation from League One but are in no rush to make an appointment with a start date for next season yet to be confirmed.
However, former Blues skipper Adam Barrett remains a leading contender for the job and is expected to work alongside Steve Tilson if appointed.
Under 23 boss Craig Fagan is also in contention.
