SOUTHEND United defender Harry Lennon has ended eight months of injury frustration.

The 25-year-old centre-back played 30 minutes of Blues' 3-2 win at Charlton Athletic this afternoon.

And boss Mark Molesley was thrilled to see Lennon back in action for the first time since breaking his leg back in December.

"Harry playing 30 minutes was a real positive," said Molesley.

"He’s worked hard in the last week.

"He’s just bringing up his training now so to get 30 minutes is a big tick in the box for that because he’s going to be a big player for us.”

Lennon joined Blues from Charlton in June 2018 but has been restricted to just 29 appearances due to injury.
