In contention - Jason Demetriou, Mark Oxley, Timothee Dieng and John White have all skippered Blues in the past
SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley has yet to decide who will skipper the Shrimpers this season.
Timothee Dieng captained Blues last term following the appointment of Sol Campbell in October.
But Molesley is still weighing up his options.
"There are some obvious candidates in the group," said Molesley.
"It’s quite a young group so some of the experienced players will be the prime candidates.
"We’re assessing everything as we go along."
Goalkeeper Mark Oxley, defender John White and midfielder Jason Demetriou have all previously skippered Southend.
