SOUTHEND United midfielder Jason Demetriou is considering his future in international football, Echosport understands.
The 32-year-old - who has won 51 caps for Cyprus - now has to carefully manage an ongoing knee injury.
And that could lead to Demetriou opting to stop his international career.
Demetriou, who missed Blues’ 3-0 defeat to Millwall on Saturday because of his knee, ruled himself out of the latest Cyprus squad as Johan Walem’s side face Montenegro and Azerbaihan in the Nations League.
Demetriou’s decision means he will be available for Blues’ Carabao Cup clash at Gillingham this weekend and the EFL Trophy match against West Ham United’s under 21s next Tuesday.
