SOUTHEND United have rejected an offer from Rochdale for striker Stephen Humphrys, Echosport undestands.

The 22-year-old has scored 10 goals in 33 appearances since signing for the Shrimpers in January 2019.

But he is now attracting interest from elsewhere.

Humphrys ended the 2017/18 campaign on loan with Dale who were keen to bring him back to Spotland.

However, their offer - the size of which is currently unknown - was knocked back by Blues.

Humphrys missed Tuesday night’s trip to Concord Rangers as he waited to receive the results of a coronavirus test after feeling unwell.

But he has now been given the green light to return to full training.
