KYLE Taylor jumped at the chance to be reunited with Mark Molesley at Southend United.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has jumped the Shrimpers on loan until January, has spent the last five years working with Molesley in the Bournemouth youth set up.

And Taylor cannot to wait to work with Molesley once again.

“I’m buzzing to finally get signed," said Taylor.

"Driving up today I was so excited and I can’t wait to get started.

“It’s been a quick turnaround.

"There’s been a bit of interest and then yesterday and today it finally got done.

“I think knowing the gaffer here will help me settle in really quickly.

"It’s amazing to have a manager who has belief in you and that can only help in training and in games.

"It really gives you the confidence to go and do what you do best.”

Taylor has made two appearances for the Cherries in the FA Cup and also spent time on loan with Forest Green Rovers last season, making 10 appearances.

And Taylor is relishing another opportunity to play first team football.

“The step up from under 21s football to men’s football is such a big step,” said Taylor.

“The experience I had last year at Forest Green showed me a lot and I learnt a lot from it too.

"I feel like I’m ready to bring that here to Southend.

“It’s been a tough start to League Two but hopefully I can bring something to the team starting from tomorrow if I'm called upon.”

Taylor is available to feature against Morecambe at Roots Hall this weekend.

And boss Molesley is delighted to have brought in the midfielder.

“KT is no stranger to us," said Molesley.

“We’re looking to add quality to this football club and KT certainly does that.

“He’s technically a very good footballer, he understands the way we want to play and I think it will be quite a seamless transition for him to come in here.

“He can play central, he can play as a 10 or he can even play wide.

"He’s an intelligent footballer and he’s another one who’s hungry to prove himself.”
