The FA Cup second qualifying round acts as National League South side’s first game of the season tomorrow, reports Leon Imber.

Jamie O’Hara and his Billericay team travel to Brackley Town, while fellow sixth tier side Concord Rangers entertain Potters Bar Town.

Danny Scopes’ side have enjoyed an encouraging pre-season which included a 6-2 victory against Great Wakering Rovers just this week.

Further FA Cup action takes place this weekend as Canvey Island take on Biggleswade Town, as Mark Bentley’s side look to extend their great run of form which saw them come away from Grays last weekend with a 4-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Essex Senior League side Hashtag United face their toughest challenge yet in the FA Cup, as they face National League South side Braintree Town.

There is a fairy-tale feel around Spencer Owen’s club and their pursuit for the FA Cup first round, but George Borg will set his Braintree side up to destroy all hope the Tags may have.

As Bowers and Pitsea bowed out of the cup early, they enjoy a rest this weekend, so too did fellow Isthmian Premier Division side East Thurrock United, but they host Brightlingsea Regent this weekend in a league fixture.

Five places and three points separate the two teams, who will both be looking to amend the defeats they suffered in their last outing.

There is plenty of Isthmian North action this weekend as Hullbridge Sports make the trip to Suffolk as they take on AFC Sudbury.

Darren Manning’s men trounced Witham Town in the opening game of the season but fell to a disappointing defeat against Ashford Town in the FA Trophy, so Manning will be very keen to steer his side back into a successful path.

Elsewhere, Basildon United sit out of the weekend’s action and prepare for their match against Great Wakering on Tuesday, who themselves face a Romford side buoyed by their recent 1-0 win against Basildon.

Lastly, Southend Manor are at West Essex tonight.

Manor travel off the back of a resilient 2-0 win against Sporting Bengal.
