CANVEY Island have been forced to pull out of tomorrow's FA Trophy tie at Ramsgate after members of their squad showed symptoms of coronavirus.

The Gulls had been due to travel to Kent for the second qualifying round clash.

But Mark Bentley's side will now not be in action.

A story on the club website confirmed: "A number of our squad are experiencing COVID symptoms, and while they await tests we are unable to safely take part in the match.

"We sincerely apologise to our supporters for this highly-unfortunate situation and wish the members of our squad the best of luck with their test results and hope they feel better soon.

"We would also like to wish Ramsgate the very best of luck in the competition and for the rest of the season."
