SOUTHEND United are offering supporters a different way to still be in attendance at Roots Hall.

Fans have been unable to watch games this season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But the Shrimpers faithful are now able to have cardboard cut-outs featuring pictures of themselves placed in the stadium.

A club spokesman said: "We are delighted to have teamed up with Fans At The Game to provide supporters a unique opportunity of being on display in the stand at Roots Hall in the form of a cardboard cutout.

"The cutouts have been a popular solution at football grounds around Europe in recent months.

"With restrictions in place preventing Blues fans attending games currently and uncertainty as to when you can return, we are pleased to offer this alternative as a way for fans to still be part of the action and further support the club during an increasingly difficult time for all."

The cut-outs are priced at £25 each and can be ordered here but only via mobile devices.

The first game the pictures will be in place is against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday October 27.
