SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley has defended his decision to add another youngster to his youthful Shrimpers squad.
Molesley has signed Arsenal midfielder James Olayinka – who has made just one Football League appearance – on loan until January.
And the Blues boss stressed the 20-year-old’s qualities made him a fine addition, despite his lack of game time.
“He’s got all the attributes we need and that’s why we’ve brought him in,” said Molesley.
“We also have a lot of games coming up so we’ve brought him in as he covers a few positions.
“We’re quite light at the moment but he has a lot of energy and he’s good on the ball too.”
