SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is mulling over who to select at left-back against Tranmere Rovers this weekend.

Molesley will be without Nathan Ralph who suffered a knee injury at Salford City on Tuesday night.

And the Blues boss must decide whether or not to replace him with Tom Clifford or Richard Taylor who came on for Ralph following his injury at the Peninsula Stadium.

"We take each game on its merits," said Molesley.

"We know what a good player Tom Clifford is.

"He’s very technical and very good on the ball but Richard Taylor we felt gave us more aerially.

"Nathan Ralph is a big player for us in both boxes, attacking and defending set plays and we felt we needed Richard’s aerial presence to deal with Salford's set plays.

"He did a good job but we will take each game on its merits and pick the right team for that particular occasion."

And Harry Kyprianou could also be back in contention for the clash at Prenton Park.

"Harry has had a groin issue last week but he was out with the physio today so I think he might be nearer to fitness now," added Molesley.
