SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley felt the Shrimpers should have been awarded a penalty during tonight’s 2-1 defeat to Oldham Athletic at Roots Hall.
Referee Christopher Sarginson opted to wave play on after Blues winger Ashley Nathaniel-George appeared to be brought down by Brice Ntambwe when the game was still goalless.
And Molesley felt a spot-kick should have been given.
“We’ve seen it back and it’s a penalty,” said Molesley.
“It’s the way it’s going for us but he’s struck the ball and he’s been wiped out.
“Anywhere else on the pitch that’s a booking and a foul but the refs seen to be missing them for us at the moment.
“I can’t talk about referees, I’ll probably get in trouble.
“I can’t control them and what they see.
“They say it even itself out over the course of a season so I look forward to getting some ourselves.”
Blues also had penalty shouts waved away in their previous two outings, against Salford City and Tranmere Rovers.
