THE Halloween weekend turned out to be a horror show for Concord Rangers, as they fell to a whopping 6-0 defeat at the hands of Maidstone United.

This was one of the more shocking results of the weekend, as Danny Scopes’ men have been a resilient force so far this season, and the hope will be that there will be no more showings like this.

It was not so much of a shock, however, to see Billericay Town yet again on the wrong end of a result, this time losing 2-1 to Ebbsfleet United.

Jake Robinson was on target for Jamie O’Hara’s men and it was probably the closest they had been all season to getting their first point on the board.

Canvey Island, Hullbridge Sports and Southend Manor missed out on action this weekend as heavy rainfall caused many pitches to be unplayable.

In the FA Trophy, Bowers and Pitsea were back in action but slumped to a disappointing 3-1 defeat against Hornchurch.

The two sides met previously this season, to which Hornchurch came out as 3-0 victors, so it’s safe to say that Bowers will not want to be facing them again.

Elsewhere, a Halloween thriller saw East Thurrock United fall just short as they were defeated 4-3 by Cheshunt.

It was a valiant display by the Rocks, and their opponents are flying high this season so there are plenty of positives to take.

Their defensive frailties still are still a cause for concern though.

Lastly, Hashtag United beat Coggeshall United 2-0 to take the Tags to the second round of the trophy.

Jay Devereux’s side’s form isn’t letting up at the moment and they are looking a real force.

Having not quite reached the first round of the FA Cup, they will be very determined to have some sort of cup success.
