SOUTHEND United fans have their say.

Can't see any way forward from our current plight. So many things need addressing right now for any sign of improvement and under Martin's chairmanship, it's hard to envisage any coming in the foreseeable future.

@MWelly7

MM really implying that squad of players who have been sub standard all season will all of a sudden turn it round and do well on Saturday because some of them has be had a rest midweek!! He has come in and tried to fix the titanic with pritt-stick! Feel for the guy.

@hund85

Outraged at the demise of our beloved club. One shambles after another. I’ve accepted relegation this season but it’s next season I’m now concerned about with a triple relegation a real possibility. No improvement since MM has taken over, shame but I think he needs to go.

@Guypie37

Every week we seem to hit a new low. We can’t hope or expect to see any significant improvement on the pitch until the off-field issues are resolved. That ball is entirely in Ron’s court...

@GoneShrimping

Seems there is no limits to the lows that we can steep to. Shows how much depth we have when we play a CF at CM, then a winger, that’s the spine of your team! RM has done us over but MM has to take responsibility too, these are his tactics and decisions.The club is toxic to the core!

@wheeliosmaximus

Things will never improve while Martin is in charge. Club needs a total overhaul starting from the top not the bottom.

@City11Shun

The mismanagement of the club from the top is staggering. Years of poor recruitment and managerial appointments tell the story. The embargo needs to be lifted now so players can be signed that can cope with this division.

@darrenshort14

Absolutely embarrassing. Whatever needs to happen to get the embargo lifted needs to happen today or we might as well just close the doors. Unfortunately a lot of the squad won’t have a career in the game, age isn’t their only issue.

@GeorgeWebb77

Bored of saying “it can’t get any worse” and then being proved wrong the very next Tuesday or Saturday. Life is very hard for lots of people at the moment, football can be great escapism, not for Southend fans.

@paulforsyth84

The issue is upstairs! Why hasn’t RM been on the phone to arrange a payment plan? It’s been a week now. It won’t be long before the calls for ‘Martin Out’ become more of a physical presence at RH. The fan base is dwindling daily.

@299Peter

Bad to worse but been like this for years. Honestly think the only way out is if the Chairman gives it up. Being “on it” is not good enough, when we’re 20 or so competitive games in to a season.

@_JamesWood_

This result and the Akinola news is the last straw in a sorry saga. The trust between the owner & manager and the fans is now completely broken. I've said this numerous times before but this is it for me. I'm out. There's simply no point carrying on following this farce any more.

@djmikejolly

Fans say it’s not MM's fault and I get it. I don’t know anymore whether a sacking is the right thing as the club is rotten to the core. But MM has been here long enough to take some responsibility. The least he could do is make us organised, gutsy and hard to beat. So far he’s failed.

@DonsEssex

The lowest point of an atrocious couple of years. I'm not being melodramatic, I know we were seconds away from winning a few weeks ago in the league, but where we are now... How can even the most optimistic fan see us winning a game?

@CDWillett

When does Molesley start becoming accountable for results? I know our situation is awful and some things are out of his control, but a 6-1 defeat to our biggest rivals is entirely unacceptable, regardless of the competition.

@BrodyStopher16

This squad is the worst I have seen in my 25 years as a Shrimper, it’s literally a bunch of kids most of whom are not ready for league football. MM is doing his best but I think he has severely underestimated the job in hand. Blame lays with Ron and no one else.
