SOUTHEND United are hoping Tuesday night’s game with Forest Green Rovers will still be able to go ahead.

The Shrimpers called off Saturday’s clash with Cambridge United after four members of their injury hit squad , added to the problem by testing positive for coronavirus.

But Blues chairman Ron Martin is anticipating Blues will be able to take to the pitch at Roots Hall on Tuesday.

“Harry Kyprianou’s loan spell at Bromley finished on Saturday, fingers crossed James Olayinka’s groin will be improved, Elvis (Bwomono) shall have recovered from his globe-trotting and Kenny Coker will be available for selection” said Martin.

“So a swing of four to five players back in the fold from where we were on Friday night and therefore we’re hoping , and want, to play.”

However, three of the players who have tested positive for coronavirus will not be able to play.
