SOUTHEND United left-back Tom Clifford has yet to discover the extent of his back injury.
The defender was forced to drop out of the starting line-up just seconds before kick off against Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday.
But Blues boss Mark Molesley is unsure whether or not Clifford will recover in time to take on Bolton Wanderers this weekend.
"Tom is seeing a chiropractor today," said Molesley.
"It’s two days post the injury and we’re hoping it’s just a spasm which can be freed up.
"We won’t know more on that one until tomorrow.
"It’s too early to say if he will be available for Saturday but we will know more once he’s seen the specialists."
Clifford had started the previous seven games before missing out against Forest Green.
