BILLERICAY Town lost 6-2 at home to Hampton and Richmond on Saturday, reports Leon Imber.
The result came as a shock, especially as Rueben Soares put Town ahead nine minutes in.
However, goals from Ryan Gondoh, Niko Muir and Sam Deadfield put the visitors into a 3-1 lead going into the half time break.
In the second half, Muir scored to make it 4-1 before Jake Robinson continued his fine run of goalscoring form, scoring in his sixth consecutive game.
The away side were not finished though, and another goal from Gondoh and a late strike by Nathan Minhas condemned Billericay to their largest defeat so far this season.
Elsewhere, Concord Rangers secured a point via a 1-1 draw away at Chippenham Town.
Will Puddy was sent off for the home side in the 34thminute and Jack Bridge capitalised two minutes later as Danny Scopes’ side took the lead.
They could not hold on against the 10 men of Chippenham though, and in the 77th minute they were dealt a heavy blow when Adam Mann equalised.
The result took the Beachboys from 20th to 19th in the standings.
