SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is not adding extra significance to tomorrow’s crunch clash at Stevenage.

The bottom of the table Shrimpers take on the team immediately above them in the table at the Lamex Stadium tomorrow.

But Molesley feels all games are crucial for his struggling side at this stage.

“The next game is always the biggest,” said the 39-year-old.

“We’re well aware of where we are and where they are too but every game is must win for us at the moment.

“We’re aware of the magnitude of the game but we can’t let it build any more pressure on our shoulders.

“We have to make sure we remain calm and clinical in our processes.”

Stevenage, who are managed by former Shrimpers striker Alex Revell, sit seven points clear of Southend.

The hosts triumphed on penalties against Hull City in the second round of the FA Cup on Sunday before securing a 1-1 draw at Walsall on Wednesday night.

Both matches were played after Blues had been beaten 3-0 at Bolton Wanderers but Molesley is not sure if Stevenage’s more demanding schedule will prove key on Saturday.

“I can’t concern myself too much with Stevenage,” said Molesley.

“But we’ll look to seize any advantage we possibly can.

“They’ve had two tough games this week so if we can seize any advantage in that we will.

“At the same time we can only focus on ourselves but Stevenage are a hardworking team and they’ve changed a few things around.

“They’re getting some good results off the back of that so another tough challenge awaits.”

Blues will go into the game with left-back Nathan Ralph (cruciate ligament), midfielder Lewis Gard (cruciate ligament) and defender Harry Lennon (knee and calf) all still sidelined along with on loan Bournemouth midfielder Kyle Taylor (hamstring) And winger Ashley Nathaniel-George is also unable to feature as he is still showing coronavirus symptoms.
